- Operating Procedures for Anorectal Stapler
- Assemble the supporting sleeve and anal plug, insert the assembly into the anal canal and fix the supporting sleeve (suture fixation is acceptable).
- Remove the anal plug and insert the obturator sleeve to perform purse-string suture.
- Perform a full circumferential submucosal suture at 3.5 cm to 4 cm above the dentate line.Caution: For female patients, avoid suturing the posterior vaginal wall mucosa.
- Rotate the PPH stapler to its maximum opening (approx. 5.5 cm). Insert the front end to the proximal side of the suture site, then ligate and tie the suture to wrap the tissue evenly around the central rod.
- Draw out both ends of the suture respectively through the two side holes of the PPH stapler using the thread carrier, then tie the knots. Reserve proper length for finger traction.
- Keep the front end of the PPH stapler in place and align it with the supporting sleeve. Rotate the adjusting nut to close the instrument, and pull the suture gently to guide the tissue into the cavity at a steady speed. Do not pull forcibly.Caution: Keep the front end fixed and ensure the instrument moves forward during closure.
- Stop traction and hold the position when the red indicator pin appears in the observation window.
- Continue rotating the adjusting nut until the red pin enters the green zone. Determine the firing position according to the thickness of mucosal tissue. Firing must be performed within the green zone.
