Single-use Vacuum Blood Collection Tube
Blood Collection Tube
Disposable / Single-use
Product DescriptionStructure and ComponentsThe single-use vacuum blood collection tube consists of a tube, additives, rubber stopper, cap and label. The tube is made of glass or PET plastic, and the rubber stopper is manufactured from medical-grade butyl rubber. The product is sterile.Intended UseUsed together with single-use venous blood collection needles to collect venous blood samples for clinical laboratory testing.Instructions for Use
- Select the appropriate type of vacuum blood collection tube according to the subject to be sampled.
- Mount the double-ended venous blood collection needle onto the holder (refer to the Instructions for Use of Double-ended Blood Collection Needle) and ensure firm connection.
- Place the subject’s arm downward, select the venipuncture site, apply a tourniquet, and disinfect the site with proper disinfection methods.
- Remove the protective sheath of the blood collection needle. Keep the arm downward and the cap end of the blood collection tube upward, then perform venipuncture.
- Push the blood collection tube into the holder to allow the other end of the needle to pierce the diaphragm of the rubber stopper. Keep the tube centered in the holder hole during penetration to avoid side piercing and premature loss of negative pressure.
- Release the tourniquet once blood flows into the tube. If blood collection is insufficient or no blood enters the tube, follow the steps below:
- Push the tube further forward to confirm full penetration of the rubber stopper.
- Adjust the position of the needle inside the vein.
- Insert a new blood collection tube into the holder sleeve.
- If blood collection still fails after tube replacement, remove and discard the double-ended needle, then restart the procedure from Step 1.
- Remove the tube from the holder when the required blood volume is collected and blood flow stops.
- Repeat Steps 5 to 7 if multiple blood samples are needed from the same subject.
- Gently invert the filled tube six times to fully mix the blood with additives, then place the tube upright with the cap end facing up.
- After sampling, withdraw the needle from the vein. Apply pressure to the puncture site with a sterile swab to stop bleeding.
- Residual blood may remain on the top of the rubber stopper after venipuncture. Avoid direct contact with blood during handling. Any blood-contaminated holder shall be cleaned, decontaminated or disposed of properly.
- Dispose of used double-ended blood collection needles with appropriate tools.
